The tournament will last for 45 days and a total of 48 matches will be played in 10 venues. Each team will play 1 match against each other. The top 4 teams in the points table will advance to the semi-finals.

The Indian team last won the ODI World Cup in 2011. This World Cup was won by India under the leadership of MS Dhoni. India has not won a single World Cup since then.
