INDIA vs BANGLADESH 1st test match preview

Bangladesh is entering this series after an impressive 2-0 win over Pakistan in Rawalpindi. They will want to continue the same form against India. On the other hand, the Rohit Sharma-led side will play for the first time in a long time and will aim to maintain their excellent Test record, especially on home ground. A day earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the team for the first Test in Chennai on September 19. In this article, we will discuss India’s playing XI.

The biggest issue for the Indian team for the first Test is the return of Rishabh Pant, who would like to return to the longest format for the first time after recovering from a fatal accident two years ago. Pant’s return is a big upgrade for India’s middle order, and it will be interesting to see if he is selected and how he performs. Apart from this, Yash Dayal has been included in the Test team for the first time.

INDIA vs BANGLADESH: here are probable playing 11 for 1st test between IND vs BAN

Top order: Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal will form the opening pair. The pair will look to play from where they stopped during the home Test series against England earlier this year. Shubman Gill has started playing at number three after initially faltering a bit.

Middle order: Virat Kohli, who missed the Test match against England, will regain his fourth place in India’s playing XI for the first Test. A report in Press Trust of India (PTI) had earlier said that KL Rahul is likely to get a chance in the middle order ahead of Sarfaraz Khan as the Indian team management is giving preference to prior experience on spinning wickets like Chennai. Rishabh Pant is set to make his much-awaited comeback in the Test team and will come at number six.

Spin all-rounder: The Indian team management may prefer either Axar Patel or Kuldeep Yadav along with three spinners like Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. Axar is expected to get a place in place of Kuldeep as there will be an extra batting option.

Bowling: Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj could be the preferred fast bowling options. But will Yash Dayal be able to cut? This is a big issue. Captain Rohit Sharma may go with the pair of Bumrah and Siraj. Yash Dayal may not get a chance in the first Test.
